A must if you are moving!

Located in Northwestern Pennsylvania, the area was first settled by Native Americans of the Six Nations Tribe. The discovery of oil in 1859 in Northern Venango County was responsible for rapid growth throughout the region.

Today, numerous cultural and recreational opportunities exist in the region such as the Venango Museum of Art Science & Industry, the DeBence Music Museum, Cook Forest State Park, Oil Creek State Park and The Barrow Civic Theater. The Allegheny and Clarion Rivers provide many recreational and scenic vistas.

The area's economy is based on manufacturing, oil and gas, health care, government, education and retail and service industries.

Several public, parochial and private school systems serve the area. Eight private and state university/college campuses are within easy driving distance.

The climate offers four distinct seasons. Residents enjoy a safe, friendly environment with a very low crime rate.
